I am very proud to announce the launching of the Copacetix Free WordPress theme! This theme has been a long time in the making - I wanted it just so and it took me quite a number of passes at it to get it just right.

This theme features Widgets, a clean readable css file, and printer friendly style sheet, variable title tags, multiple layouts, random homepage photos, minimal images to load, h1 titles on pages and posts, and many other specific things that I think make up a usable WordPress theme.

You can download the creative commons attribution licensed version of the theme here.

If you are interested in licensing the theme yourself you can read more about that here.

Hey Now, and welcome to the launching of the website that will become the home of the soon to be world famous Copacetix WordPress theme.

Copacetix.com has a long and twisted history, it all started when Chuck had never heard the word copacetic, which drove me to the idea of naming something in honor of the word. Copacetix has been the name of a number of ideas over the years, but it’s last incarnation will be this WordPress theme.

Tune in regularly for news about the theme’s launch and updates. You can follow me on twitter if you want to get updates that way.

Once upon a time I ran this cool little web-dev shop in a college town in the Southern US. While we did a lot of good work we also had allot of fun. There was an air hockey table, various empty and half empty Guinness pints scattered around, Rob Zombie blasting from the Ninja’s PA, Monkey Hole, Photoshoped pictures of our boss hung all over the office, etc.

One of my duties was to interview potential new coders and usually they were cool under grads, foreign born students, or clueless wanks that thought that having a degree and knowing how to use various Microsoft programs meant they had the chops to work for me…

The other type of applicant we had ( aside from that cat that looked just like Oliver Platt and told me his Photoshop skills were “magnificent” ) were wanna be yuppie young republican dudes that were a little overwhelmed and out of their depth. They would show up in a button down and tie and I would have faded jeans with a rip over the right knee and a Ernie Ball T-Shirt.

One time, this guy in black rimmed glasses, an Oxford, and penny loafers comes through the door and takes it all in. I smell the fear from the back of the office. Whanders points him in my direction after they mumble something to each other and he walks back to my area and we shake hands. And then, I swear, he says: “Is this a real business?”

In the words of our inimitable President: that’s a trick question, and I’m not going to answer it…

Everything I do in life is like that sort of. I just do what I do, that’s all I know how to do. I do what I want to do and then try and figure out a way to make it viable.

I am never going to be one of those guys that figures out how many widgets to sell so that I can franchise a business that I have no personal interest in - I do what I like to do and then try and make a business out of it. And most importantly I make sure that I can structure what I do in a way that I can have fun doing it. And even more importantly I figure out ways so that I don’t have to work for the man.

Everything is Everything

So is this a real website? Dunno, you make the call.

If you need some web development, check out what I do for a living over at http://imjtk.com
